Service Schedule
 

Regular maintenance checks and simple service can greatly reduce the cost of car ownership.

  
 
  1. For maximum fuel efficiency and cleaner air keep your engine in tune.
  2. For safe driving keep brakes, steering and suspension systems in A–1 condition.
  3. Correct tire inflation is important. Check yours regularly; rotate and inspect periodically.
  4. Be able to see and be seen with properly working lights, windshield wipers and washers.
 

Most of the checks and services described here can be done at little or no cost. Best of all, they are quick and easy to do, plus they can save time, money and inconvenience. Although your owner's manual is an excellent reference when performing maintenance on your vehicle, it should periodically have a thorough inspection by a qualified technician. 

 
 
Component Weekly Monthly Every 2 Months Special Note
Air Filter     Inspect and replace when dirty.
Antifreeze      Add 50/50 percent solution when needed.
Battery       Check with every oil change.
Belts     Inspect for slack between pulleys.
Brakes       Inspect annually.
Brake Fluid     Add approved type when needed.
Engine Oil       Check level every other fuel fillup - change every 3 months or 3,000 miles.
Exhaust       Have emissions checked yearly.
Hoses     Inspect for softness or bulges.
Lights       Keep spare bulbs and fuses in vehicle.
Oil Filter       Replace with every oil change.
Power Steering Fluid     Add approved type when needed.
Shock Absorbers       Replace when worn or leaking.
Tires     Inflate to recommended pressure level.
Transmission Fluid     Check with engine running - add approved type when needed.
Washer Fluid       Check every other fill up.
Wiper Blades       Replace yearly or when smearing or chattering.
